Computerized Occlusal (chewing surface) Analysis system. The T-Scan collects biting forces over time, which when combined with periodontal, radiographic and clinical hard tissue examination, provide a complete assessment of the patients oral health. The T-Scan graphically illustrates both occlusal force and time.
Tekscan II is invaluable in monitoring forces on implants, dentures, identifying occlusal trauma, controlling occlusion (biting forces) on veneers, crowns, and inlays/onlays, and demonstrates the distribution of biting forces and interference's that can lead to TMJ and other related problems.
Pictured below are Dr. Parker and Laura using the Tekscan to analyze biting forces prior to restoring the smile of one of our patients.

To provide better patient care, Parker Dental has added a new piece of exciting technology.
We have just installed a sophisticated Digital Imaging System that reads the latent X-ray image on a Phosphor Storage Plate (PSP) and sends that image to our computer. Since a PSP is very thin, patients do not experience discomfort.

ScanX gives us the ability, using 90% less radiation, to enlarge high-resolution images for better diagnosis.

We are very proud of the beautiful smiles and positive life changes that we see in our patients that complete treatment. All treatment is recorded with a high tech digital camera. We inspect all of our planned treatment with the Intra Oral Camera.
This camera, which looks like a laser pointer, has the ability to freeze an image and transfer it to a 20" TV monitor. Since the image is greatly magnified and frozen in time, we can see defects, irregularities, and fractures in the tooth structure that are otherwise impossible to see with the naked eye. These images can be printed for your insurance company and are archived as a permanent part of your record.
Having the TV monitors, digital cameras, and the Intra Oral Camera in each treatment room, allows you to see your teeth as never before and gives you a clear picture of what we see when we examine your mouth.
Dr. Parker and Laura utilize the Intra Oral Camera
as an aid in the diagnosis of dental problems

We have a professional photo studio in our office and our patients enjoy the opportunity to have their "smile makeovers" photographed. Every patient is given a beautiful portrait of their favorite photo from the "photo shoot" for their home.

Pattie enjoys showing off her new smile during her photo shoot!
The AED is the latest standard for the management of heart attacks, the number one killer in the United States. All of our team members are trained and certified in the use of the AED. We are proud to have this technology in our office.

We, at Parker Dental Associates, recently installed a new Panoramic X-ray unit. This state of the art equipment will allow us to take one large picture of your mouth and supporting structures from the outside.
We now have the capability to take a better, clearer image along with a 90% reduction in radiation exposure. We recommend that the picture be taken as a baseline screening image for proper diagnosis of the following abnormalities of the mouth and jaw:
- Cancerous and non-cancerous growths
- Impacted teeth, including wisdom teeth
- Cysts
- Your jaw joints and their relationship to their sockets
- Growth pattern of children's teeth and jaws
- Extra teeth and congenitally missing teeth
- Developmental abnormalities
- Periodontal (gum) disease
- Traumatic injuries
- Tooth-Sinus relationship
- Abnormal resorption of destruction of bone or teeth
- Metabolic bone disease and conditions affecting the bone
Our acquisition of this Panoramic x-ray system is consistent with our philosophy of providing you, our patients, with the most modern concepts and treatments available in dentistry today.
Parker Dental Associates uses customized dental telescopes which magnifies the area of the mouth 2.5 - 3.5 times. We also use a fiber optic light that attaches to the top of the glasses, allowing the clearest vision without the use of an overhead light. A rubber dam is also used, which isolates the teeth that are being worked on and creates a clean, dry field as well as prevents any dental material from getting into your mouth. This is part of our commitment to providing exceptional precautions to maximize your safety.
The use of magnification guarantees that all structures being treated are clearly visible. This is a phenomenal aid insuring the success of your restoration.

With the increased use of Laser Technology, Parker Dental Associates has stepped into the future with the Odyssey Diode Soft Tissue Laser.
We can now do many procedures in the office that in the past we would have referred to a specialist. One of these treatments involves apthous ulcers (canker sores) and fever blisters.
If you have ever had either of theses you know how painful and bothersome they can be. Utilizing the energy of the laser we can treat them painlessly and have you walk out the door with no more pain or discomfort in the area. The laser does not touch the ulcer or fever blister so anesthesia is rarely used. The amazing thing is that healing is reduced by several days and there is no more discomfort with the lesion. Treatment takes minimal appointment time. Over the counter ointments, creams and treatments only mask the symptoms. With laser therapy there is more cessation of pain and enhanced healing all in one simple, painless applications.
